Greetings
This HELP explains the "Forms" used to enable you to create an account on
our site as a User with authenticated Role(s).
Are you a "New User?" If yes, then first complete the form described next as
Create New Account
This form is normally only completed once (in the beginning) when you create
your new "Account" with us. These are the fields to complete in this
form:
- User Name The name you choose need not be your real name. Typically,
this is your "Fun" name or "Handle."
- Password
Enter at least 5 characters of assorted letters,
numbers, and special characters. Note that the data you enter is puposefully hidden
from view. Passwords are encoded and saved on the server in a manner
that precludes us from viewing or retrieving them.
- Confirm Password
is asking you retype your New Password just to insure you typed what you intended.
Both entries must match.
- Email Address
This is your Email address. We send replacement
passwords to this address, and it is one of the data items we use to validate User's
for certain Roles.
- Security Question
Enter a question we can use in case you forget your password. We will ask
you this question.
- Security
Answer Enter the answer to the question you posed above. When
we ask your question, this is the answer you are to provide.
Afte successfully completing
the above, you will become a User. However, you will not yet have any
assigned Role(s).
Select Role(s) of interest
Roles identify your area(s) of interest. To Add a Role, select a desired role from the list box, and click Add
Role. To delete a role, do the same and select Delete Role. Having a Role
assigned is akin to being being granted priveledges to view certain web pages, and request certain
services on our web site. Some Roles require additional informationl from you
so that we can "Authenticate" you before we can grant you these special services
and features. Roles help us
maintain a level of Security for our services.
For Roles like "Sterling Agent," "Owner-Landlord," and "Guest-Tenant" we
"Authenticate"
you with data we already have on file about you in our office database. In authentication: your Email address, your
real name, and your answer to our secret question
(like Tax ID data) are examples of three
pieces of data we use that
must
match exactly the data we already have on file. In Authentication, you will
be asked to enter your "Real Name." If your name in our data files is "Joe or Mary
Smith" you may repy either "Joe Smith" or "Mary Smith." If
any of the three data answers do not match the data already in our files, you will not be authenticated
for the requested Role. If you are having trouble logging into roles,
first send us an Email explaining your problem. DO NOT Email us data like TAX ID numbers because Internet Email is not a secure medium. We must speak with you personally to validate your
TAX ID data. If you fail in your attempt(s) to authenticate 3 times, you will
be logged off our system and a
warning notification will be created and sent to our
office. A subsequent failed attempt will purge your User account.
After you have created your account, you will only need to use
the "Log In" form in all future visits to our site.
"Remember me next time" will create a Cookie with your Log In data
on your computer. This is useful when you expect to briefly leave our site
and return very soon. This persists for about 20 minutes.
There are 3 hyperlinks enclosed inside the Log In form:
Create New Account To offer
"First time" Users guidance to creating a new account
Email Password
If you forgot your password, you can click this link, provide your User Name, and answer
your Security question, and a NEW (very cryptic) password will be Emailed to you. After you receive
the NEW password, you can cut-and-paste the new password
into the Login form. Normally, you would then change the password to a another less cryptic password.
Help This will take you to this Help page you are on right now.
"?" When
you see a red "question mark" after a text box it is there to advise
you must provide data before the request can be completed..
Change Password
See "Password" described above. Make it convenient
to remember, but try to keep it complex.
Change Email Address
Here you may change the Password you supplied when you Created your account.
Best wishes.....
